It's been only 16 months since their last duo album, and CNN returns with another 4.5 star album for their 4th time around. I'd give 'The War Report' (1997) & 'The Reunion' (2000) both 5 stars and thier last effort 'Channel 10' (2009) I'd say is also 4.5 star worthy. As Capone-N-Noreaga- which naturally translates into the clever initials CNN - were recording their debut album, Capone was sent to jail, leaving Noreaga to handle the majority of The War Report himself, with the occasional help of such stars as Nas. The invincible, untouchable...CNN. From an appearance in The Source magazine's Unsigned Hype column, their classic album 'War Report' (think T.O.N.Y), to their part in the growing East Coast/West Coast rivalry, CNN have definitely solidified their position in hip hop history. I mean they had a few set-backs in the 90's, such as Capone's nasty habit of going to jail, but somewhere in that shuffle (I assume while working towards the Reunion album), they dropped this track. I saw the video and was pretty much obsessed with the beat, so after a short search I found a white label copy, complete with instrumental. I don't think the track actually dropped in stores until 2004 on their best of compilation, but shit is hot! Never really got the attention it deserved...here you go, you be the judge (I included the beat).
